This may not be the most popular advice, but I have to say it again and again.
This really does matter. Do not train alone or with people who know nothing about you. If you want to get better, then go train with people who are better than you are. Why is this important? Well, you see, we need to train our brains to be able to use these tools of the mind, which are called “techniques”. But the brain is not like the computer. It has a mind of it’s own. So, for the brain to learn a jump rope technique, you need to train your brain.
You need to give it something to focus on to keep it from focusing on other things. The people who know best how to train our brains, are people who have seen our brains at work – the mistakes we make, the patterns we follow, the things we never do, and the things we always do. If our brains were simple enough to be able to operate on a computer, we would all be sitting in front of computers all day. If our brains were simple enough to be able to operate on a computer, people would learn things without any problems. We cannot afford to make the same mistakes. Therefore we cannot afford to be like the people we see every day – always doing the same things. And if our brains are not able to recognize patterns in things, then we will continue to do the same mistakes.

I would advise you to train your brain to do whatever it knows how to do – just stop doing other things and let your brain concentrate on the things that matter to you. Remember: Training is not simply about learning different things. You have to train your brain to do this jump rope technique.
