Improving race pace through dedication and teamwork.
This past weekend was a huge success for our group, despite the hot weather. We had our first night of race triathlons and everyone stepped up their game! Saturday marked our first official race and the results were impressive, with many improving on last week’s times. Some girls even hit their 5K splits for the first time, which was a major milestone. It's so rewarding to see the excitement and enthusiasm from everyone, especially those still finding their rhythm . This is just the start and it's incredible to see everyone pushing themselves to achieve their best .
At the beginning of the week, the girls formed their own teams to help with accountability and camaraderie. Sticking with a group of friends made the training easier to handle and having the support of teammates really made a difference . Even with all the extra training, many of the girls are running 5K races comfortably in about 30 minutes, but there's always room to learn and improve. Last Saturday’s race brought some valuable lessons, like the importance of punctuality — starting 15 minutes after your wave means you're already playing catch-up! Plus, never underestimate the course, even if it’s not the most technical. When you're running at a sprint pace, trying to keep up with the pack, focus and planning are crucial.

One of the key takeaways from our race experience is that everyone brings different strengths to the table. Running your best pace while learning from your teammates can help you become a better, more versatile athlete . It’s important to focus on your own progress rather than comparing yourself to others. Even if you’re a bit slower than expected, you’re still making progress and can finish strong. That personal sense of accomplishment is what matters most. Jumping rope during training is another excellent way to enhance your cardio and endurance , preparing you for those fast-paced race environments.

Ultimately, each race is a chance to grow and refine your skills. As a group, we’ve learned to embrace the challenge, improve our endurance and celebrate the small victories along the way. Trust in your training and don’t forget to take care of yourself mentally and physically. Whether it's running or jumping rope with a training jump rope, every workout brings you closer to your goals . Stay motivated, keep showing up and always believe in your potential!
